Chick-peas

Brief History

We usually call chick-peas "nuts", although they are not really; they are produced after roasting of chickpeas which are very nutritious pulses. Greece produces chick-peas, but we also import chick-peas from Turkey.

Great Secrets

  • What is very good about chick-peas is that they do not contain many fats, while they contain proteins, carbohydrates, natural fibres and various vitamins (A, beta carotene, K and C).

Did you know that...

  • There are two types of chick-peas: soft and hard. In any case, you should always remember that this is the most fat-free and healthy snack.
